Questions & Answers
For EMT and AEMT, our spring classes will run January - May. Registration will open in October.
EMT: Day Class - Tuesdays/Thursdays 1/14/25 - 5/8/25 8 AM - 3 PM
Night Class - Tuesdays/Thursdays 1/14/25 - 5/1/25 6 PM - 10 PM &
Saturdays 8 AM - 5 PM
AEMT: Dates TBD Mondays/Wednesdays 6 PM - 10 PM
Paramedic: August 2025 - Dates TBD
We recommend something to take notes but you will receive a handout packet based on the program you are interested in -- EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.
We recommend staying during the full presentation to get the most information about the program. Our presenters usually speak for about an hour and try to be efficient, but we like to leave more than enough time for questions & answers during and after the presentation.
We only have one building and parking surrounds the entire campus. There will be more than enough space.
That's okay! You can email us and let us know if you'll be 10-15 minutes late at ems@durhamtech.edu. If you'll be later than 20+ minutes, we recommend signing up for a different info session timeslot.
At this time, we do not host virtual info sessions. All of them are currently held in-person at the Orange County campus in Hillsborough.
That's okay! We have a program for high schoolers each spring and fall through dual enrollment.
High school students will need the following in order to register for classes:
- Driver's license (not a permit)
- SAT or ACT scores meeting our minimum requirements or you can placement test with us*
- A letter from your high school letting us know you are in good academic standing
- Must be 17 years old by the end of the class
*SAT score minimum: 480 ACT score minimum: ENG 18 or higher or READ 22 or higher
These scores will place you into a college-level English course which is the pre-requisite for the EMT class.
These scores must have been received within the last year.
